Creativity is not my forte. Rarely do I come up with something creative on my own and I greatly admire people who can. Once in a while though, it strikes, but it's about every two years or so.
My darling friend Geniel was called as the "Golden Hours" Leader at Girls' Camp this year. For those of you who don't know what that is, I didn't until Geniel told me, it's an hour of a spiritual lesson and she had to give a lesson every night for four nights. You wouldn't believe the strides Geniel took to make these lessons fun and memorable! It would have worn me out to do all that she did. The theme for camp this year was based around Disney, so naturally Geniel based a couple of her lessons around the Disney theme. For one of her lessons it was on temptation and she used the poisoned apple from Snow White as the visual aid for temptation. This is where my part came in. Geniel emailed me at work and asked me to come up with a way to attach scenarios to apples. So I dusted off the cob-webbed side of my brain and started to think.....and think....and think.
It finally hit me that I could go and buy some fake apples and glitter them to look enticing. Then I thought I could get some old looking fairytale - like paper and put the scenarios on them and burn the edges with a match and then tie them on to the apples. Brilliant! Now if I could just get it all to work.
I think it was meant to be because it all came together perfectly and without any bumps. I was pretty excited over the way the apples turned out being as my glitter pumpkin project with Geniel a couple of years ago didn't quite turn out like we had hoped it would (for anyone who wants a funny story, remind of the glitter pumpkins and I'll tell you what I woke up to in bed the next morning). So here are some pictures of my project. Geniel was pretty pleased with how they looked but she was so stressed I don't think she would have cared how they looked! I have to document this kind of stuff so my posterity doesn't think I'm a total reject.

Good luck, Geniel! I know you'll do a great job and the girls will love everything you put together for them. Now hurry up and come home so we can have our girls' weekend!
The final project!
