Remember a couple of posts ago when I said that the game that week was ugly? Well, it looked pretty next to the game on Saturday. It was bad, to say the least. We played the number one team in the league right now, the Yellowjackets, and they were good, too good! They could run, hit, tackle, you name it. Our team looked a little unprepared to play them.
We lost 40-0. Our players didn't even get the ball close to our end-zone. I was taking Taylor to a birthday party later that night and while driving he turned to me and said, "Mom, I think you would consider the game today a blowout". You think? He had a bad day because someone from the other team called him a bad name. This usually happens at every game and it affects Taylor so much. For being a kid who doesn't care much what other people think of him, to be called a name out on the field really hurts him. I think I finally figured out why - because Taylor would never think to call someone else a name (except for Colby, you know that good old brotherly love). So it's hard for him to think someone would do that to him for no reason. We have had major talks about it. Ryan and CP have both told him they've heard it all, been called it all, but that doesn't seem to help him. Maybe he's not cut out for football.
Pictures will be included later. When I went to plug my camera in, I realized that the battery was dead. I've been carrying it around in my purse and somehow the button was hit and turned on.
On a happy note, my Mom and Dad are coming down tomorrow for Colby's birthday and ordaining. Can you believe my baby is going to be twelve? I am really, really excited to see my Mom and Dad. I haven't seen my Dad in eight, that's right EIGHT months. How can he go that long and not see his favorite daugther? My only thought is, Mom's been giving him happy pills to subdue the depression.

Those were Horse sized Happy Pills too. Geesh..8 months! He's been a busy grampa!
Congrats to Colby. What an exciting time for him!! Give him my hugs and then send one to Grammie and one to Grampers. I miss them. Grammies sent Jonas a book the other day. It was a cute book, but her thoughtfulness made me really cry. She's such a great Grammie and I don't tell her enough. Enjoy your time with them. I love you!
P.S. UPS, FED-X, and DHL do not ship humans under any circumstances. I checked. They only ship bodies. Yipes. We have to come up with a plan B to see each other!
Ouch! That sounds as bad as AHS last game. Hang in there bud. Thanks for the update.
It's hard to not feel what your kids feel and then want to also tear out the heart of the dork that called your child a bad name!! Tay is such a sweetie and I can feel his pain. I'm so happy for Colby!! Cara, he's 12 seriously?! When did my boy grow up?! Just wait...the mission call for him comes next!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLBY!! Kiss 'em both from Nana!!
