We Should Have Won

Colby played his fourth game this last Saturday over in Walnut Creek. The boys and I went alone because Ryan was working. I was a little nervous about it. Once you cross the Altamont, the traffic changes. It's heavier and faster. They drive like Seattle drivers but add some steroids to the equation and you have the drivers in the Bay Area. We did fine and found the school without any problems. Colby was the navigator and I played the part of the stressed out driver.

Walnut Creek is a beautiful town and I hear they have quite the mall, which I will be checking out before the season's over. They have huge trees and beautiful landscape throughout the town. The team we played, can't remember their name, was equally matched to us. Something was in the air for our team, though, they looked lethargic out there. Maybe they were all tired from the night before, who knows, but they didn't look like their usual selves. They ended up losing by three. So their record stands at 1-3.

Colby ready for the tip-off.

He has spent hours in our backyard perfecting his shot.

Their coach, Matt, pulled them aside after the game and in a nutshell told them that he has just let them do their own thing these first few games but now he was stepping in and taking the reins. Hopefully this means things are going to change. There is so much talent on this team, they should be winning more than they are!

Runnin' down the court.

Pretty sure Colby caused this foul.

Taylor and I had the pleasure of riding home with Mr. Grumpy Gills. I don't know what it is about our boys but when they lose a game, they are ornery. Maybe it's a boy thing that I don't understand because I'm not one. According to Taylor, I was never an athlete so I don't understand much of what goes on. Not that I'm disputing the athlete thing, but I do have a clue about life in general. Taylor's pretty good about reminding me that I was a cheerleader and not on the field/court. That's boys for ya'!

Getting some last minute advice from their coach.

Now, we wait for three weeks for their next game. I'm hoping there will be some major improvements at their next game. They have a major tournament at the end of May in Reno and I'm hoping by then they definitely have it together.

Cara, don't worry you'll get the hang of the ,mood after the game and sometimes it really rubs off and than you have to pretend like it really does not bother you. Thanks for the updates. loving it.
Love Colby's form at the free throw line.
