Back To Reality, Back To The Routine

Well, it's finally here, summer vacation has come to an end. The fellas start school on Wednesday and for the first time since they've started school, none of us are excited. Usually the boys are excited and that makes me excited for them but not this year. My heart is always a little sad, and I usually cry in the car for a few minutes, the first day of school. Every year that passes, I realize that's one less year we have with them at home. They are growing way too fast for me and I don't like it one bit!

The boys found out on Friday who their teachers were going to be this next year. Colby ended up with Mrs. Jara as his homeroom teacher, the same teacher he had last year for fifth grade. She moved up with his class this year because she is normally a sixth grade teacher. I don't know how excited he is to have her again. He liked her fine but I think part of him wanted someone new. I, on the otherhand, am estatic he has her again! She is an outstanding, fabulous teacher and she loved Colby to death!

Taylor got the fifth-grade "Nazi" teacher. We are holding our breath over this one! Not only is she a "Nazi" but she goes to church with us, not in our ward, so if things don't go well we will have to see her outside of school, AND he has the bully he had to deal with in second grade in his class again. This may be a very long year for Taylor and me. I had my little fit on the phone to Ryan about it and he pretty much told me to calm down and that it would be fine. We'll see.

Other than that, life has been pretty quiet. Taylor is still knee-deep in football with his first scrimmage on Wednesday (yes, the first day of school). He also found out on Friday that he is on the starting line so he was excited about that. Colby starts another round of Water Polo next week for six weeks and then I don't know what he'll do to keep himself entertained. I would really like to see him join the AAU basketball team in Lodi but I want him to decide that for himself.

Stay tuned for more information on back to school. There will be pictures, the boys hate it but I think it's important to mark the start of a new year and it's the only time I have a say about what they wear and their hair being combed! Sometimes it's not easy raising boys!

Too bad about the Nazi..eww..that's gonna bite. I think Taylor can deal with the bully-he IS on the starting line-up now :)
Tell the boys good luck with school and all the fun that comes with it. You be tough...I need someone to tell me it will be OK when it is my turn to do this. Yuck.

Oh, please don't tell me it's not easy raising boys. I think I'm well on my way to having my own basketball team!

I can't believe school is already starting. (I am not excited for this school thing, I wish I could wait ANOTHER year!) I really can't believe the boys are in 5th and 6th grade. They are getting too old!!

I seriously get the nervous shakes when we drive to the school to find out who the kids have as teachers and if our requests were granted. Then it takes me hours to unwind. Yeah, I know I'm crazy, you don't have to tell me. :)

Nathan already tells me he's supposed to be dirty and not comb his hair. Boys have a mind of their own too, I'm learning that one!

I too am dreading the morning dig this year. Getting 3 kids ready, one of the the slowest ever, Mr. Dane is not going to be easy. It's also good to hear, I'm not the only one with a few minutes of tears.

Better watch what you say about "Nazi" teacher. No, seriously perhaps that would be the best for the bully and Taylor will be ok. Tell him congrats for being in the starting line-up. Ryan, you better watch out.

We had a great time the few days we spent with you and miss you all.
