Halloween Fun

Halloween came and went by so fast, much like this whole year has done for me. I don't even feel like a really got a chance to enjoy Halloween. The best part for me is passing out the candy and seeing all the costumes but I DREAD coming up with costumes for the boys. Luckily this year it was relatively easy. Colby and his friends at school decided they wanted to dress up as a 70's basketball team. I'll let the pictures explain and Taylor ho-hummed around and didn't know what he wanted to be and last minute said he wanted to be a Rubik's Cube, again! Dangit! I threw out the Rubik's Cube from last year because he said he wouldn't use it again. So, Ryan and I scrambled and found all the things we needed to make another one. It wasn't quite as good as last years but it did the job.

The Basketball Team. Back Row (L-R): Troy Bohanon, Colby, Eric Chapman. Front Row (L-R): Nick Bonnifield, Christopher Cranston, Jordan Gartin, and Kevin Truax.

Won't this make a great "Remember When" on graduation day?

Colby sporting his new "do".

The boys were invited, along with Ryan, over to one of their friends' houses for dinnner and trick-or-treating. Ryan said they had 16 kids out trick-or-treating together. I stayed home and had a night to myself. It was wonderful! I watched one of my all time favorite movies, worked on some laundry, started dinner for Sunday, and was in my pajamas at 9:30. It was a great night!

The other kids who weren't on the team.

The bros.

I have been dreading telling Colby this would be his last year of trick-or-treating. When I told him, he said, "Fine by me, I don't really want to go this year". I told him that would have been nice to know before we invested in the costume. I know, you're thinking I'm a bad mother for telling him he's done, but I have issues with teenagers out trick-or-treating. Mainly because as a tween girl myself, my best friend Sara and I would go out every year and always get bullied by teenagers who took our candy. We pinky swore that we would not let our kids trick-or-treat after they turned 12. I wonder if she's living up to her end of the deal?

I am so glad you hate tweens trick-or-treating. It drives me nuts. I wouldn't give them candy :) Its rude. It's a Holiday for children. Anyways. Colby's costume was awesome...I love the short shorts!! And Taylor...I totally told someone about his costume and they came to the trunk or treat as a Rubic's cube-hilarious. Miss you!

Very cute costume, boys. I'm digging the hair on Colby. You and Uncle Greg must go to the same hair stylist to get your perms. The next time we see you guys you can talk "hair products!" Love you guys!
