From A Maverick To A BumFrog

Colby is once again playing with a new basketball team. With all the teams he's joined up with and has played for the last six months, I 'm afraid we are developing a reputation for being easy. I think, though, we have finally found what we have been looking for. Even though Colby thoroughly enjoyed playing for the Mavericks and Team Performance, it wasn't competitive enough for him. Through some parents we have made friends with from the Mavericks, they found this team, which is called "Black Out" but is funded by Bumfrogs. I can't let go of calling them the "Bumfrogs". It drives Colby nuts but I think it's a hilarious name.

Practice is two nights a week with games on Saturday, no Sunday games! Hooray! So hard to find around here. I also noticed that there aren't any cheerleaders and offered my services to Colby to be the cheerleader but he firmly said "No". I had the outfit picked out and everything! I think if Colby would just let me try out he might change his mind.

The coach is awesome! Very patient but firm. He told the parents at the first meeting that he expects every one of these boys to walk away with a scholarship to play college basketball. That's quite a statement, and commitment! Colby is loving it and every evening I hear the basketball bouncing in our backyard when I come home from work. Such a sweet sound. It gets me all jittery inside knowing that UOP Men's basketball is just around the corner.
