Today was our first full day in Maui and the boys were anxious to get started! We decided to rent our own snorkel gear to see how the boys took to snorkeling out in the great wide open. So off to "Snorkel Bob's" we went. It was just up the road from the condo. The guy there that helped us get the right gear was full of fun places to go and snorkel.
We ended up going up the road to Napili and the beach there was gorgeous! It was a little bit of a windy day but that didn't stop the boys. They were off and in the water. I laid on the beach and decided to soak up some rays and maybe would attempt the water later. Taylor and Colby spent so much time in the water that Taylor still has bumps all over his stomach from letting the tide take him in and out and his little belly scraping on the rocks as he came in and out.
I was gently nudged (forced) to try out my snorkel gear. The water was coming in pretty good now and the swells carried you wherever they felt like it. Once I got out there all three boys pretty much told me to quit being a pansy and get in. I just couldn't get over the swells and had a minor panick attack. I finally fought my way back to shore and just as I was taking off my flippers, a wave came in and knocked me over, mind you this was a busy beach. I tried to look graceful going down but with all the sand I had to pick out from all my crevices, I'm thinking it wasn't so graceful after all.
Ryan and the boys had a great time playing in the water and snorkeling. Ryan and Colby did some pretty extensive snorkeling this day. It would make me a little nervous watching them so far out but Ryan could always touch bottom, it just didn't look that way. Taytie-bug was happy as a clam playing with the boogie board and trying to catch a wave! He caught a few but not as many as he would of liked to. He really wanted to go further out but my paranoid twin wouldn't let him.
This was also the day when we realized that I left part of our battery charger for our camera at home! Ugh!
