Let's Get Ready To Rumble!

Taylor has begged, pleaded, and made promises to us to let him play football the past two years. Ryan has (and still is) pretty set against him playing for the fact that he thinks it's too hard on little kids' bodies. However, Taylor knows I'm a softy and so he's worked me over to the point that I have told him he could play. So much for our strict parenting ways!

It has been hard to watch Colby get to play the sport he loves and Taylor settle for sports that he's not all that interested in. That was my case to Ryan. It worked! Taylor is now officially signed up to play football this fall. His practices start July 18th and he will practice five days a week until his first game in September. Their first two games are away in Modesto and Dublin and then the rest of the season they play here in Stockton.

He is so excited, I can't even put it in to words! When Taylor's excited about something, that's when the 100 questions start. He has quizzed Ryan and I to death and he's only been signed up for three days! He gets the full gear-football helmet, pads, the uniform, the works. We'll probably have to give him a bath in his uniform once he gets it.

I am very excited for him to play! He loves any physical, contact sport. He would love to play hockey, however, it cost $1,500 just to sign up to play here. That doesn't include equipment, travel, hotel rooms, etc. So we'll take football! I just wonder if my cheerleading outfit from high school still fits me? Probably not, but it's a good thing I still have my pom-pons!

Haha, oh how Taylor would love it if you showed up in your cheerleader outfit with pompoms. DO IT!

Sounds like loads of fun for Taylor, very busy too. It would be pretty hard to let them sign up though. Can't wait to see all the pictures you'll have of it!

I laughed right out loud and read with a smile on my face when you said Taylor will be bathing in his gear. Too funny!! I love that kid's enthusiasm!!!

Hooray for Taylor! You will be busy, but I LOVED going to watch Chad play football. He wasn't as excited as Taylor though. I think he liked checking out all the other players sisters :) Always looking, that Chad! I am SO looking forward to seeing the pictures-especially the one with you in your Cheer Uniform...it's been a while :) IF it doesn't fit, maybe you could wear your slip and dance around...it's pretty sweet too! Miss you!!

Yay for Taylor!! It really is fun watching the little guys play football. It can be hilarious when they run the opposite direction! I'm sure Ryan is thrilled that you still have your pom-poms...question is, are they still firm and fluffy as if new or have, over the years gone flat and saggy from over-use?
Just wonderin'!
Love ya!!
