I love, love, love the fact that our boys can take being teased and know how to tease. At times, this is what makes our home go 'round. I was teased all the time by my family, even my parents and Ryan had his portion of it, too. Therefore, Ryan and I are both teasers. I wanted to share some conversations that have taken place yesterday and this morning with the boys.
Yesterday I was driving Colby to basketball practice and we were teasing back and forth. We ended up at a red light behind his basketball coach...
Me: "Colby why don't you go hop in with Coach Matt and he can drive you the rest of the way to practice".
Colby: "No, I'm not going to do that".
Me: "Just go tap on his window and ask him for a ride. Then I won't have to drive you as far and can make a U-turn right here".
Colby: "Mom, you have a lot of problems".
Me: "Do you know why I have so many problems?"
Colby: "Yeah, because you gave birth to Taylor".
I wasn't being serious about Colby and his coach but sometimes I say things to Colby and he gives me that teenage look, you know the one. It just makes me giddy inside to see him give me that look and I don't know why.
Then this morning, it has become a ritual for Colby and Taylor to watch "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" every morning before school. They love that show and so do I! I watched it faithfully when it was on the air and had forgotten how funny it was. On this morning's episode, Carlton and Ashley are competing for the solo at church for their Easter program. They were going to be singing "This Little Light Of Mine". Once Colby heard that song, we knew we would hear it the rest of the morning, and we did! The conversation went like this.....
Colby singing at the top of his lungs over and over again.
Taylor: "Mom, is he ever going to quit singing?"
Me: "Probably not. You know Colby, when something makes him laugh, he repeats it over and over again".
Taylor: "It's getting on my nerves".
Me: "Maybe having Colby as a brother is your way to learn more patience".
Taylor: "Colby! If you don't quit singing that song, I'm going to beat the little light inside of you!"
Obviously Taylor is still in the learning stages. These two characters crack me up every day! I love their senses of humor and how witty they are becoming. My fear is the day is going to come where Ryan and I aren't as witty as they are but hopefully by then we'll be too old to care.
I have ton of posting to do on Colby's games and Taylor's birthday. Colby played 7 games last weekend and was one worn out puppy! I am so grateful to be a mother and to have such great kids. They are the best part of me.

You are all too funny! Sure makes me know how much we miss out with one another living so far apart! Give the boys and squeeze and tell Taylor I haven't forgotten his birthday. I just keep forgetting to do anything about it! Does that make sense? Miss and love you. Happy Mother's Day!
You have some very clever boys! I love the "Fresh Prince" tradition. Mom and Damon love that show, too.
Remember the episodes when Carlton dances? THOSE ARE CLASSIC. Seriously...I love those boys. I love every little thing about them...especially that they have your quit wit and sense of humor! Miss you!
